It’s time to announce our Employee of the Month. This award is given every month to an HAA employee who goes above and beyond his or her normal job duties demonstrating one of our core values – yes face, drive, or kinship.
Our winner this month is Phil Haupt, our Helicopter Assistant Chief Instructor at the Troutdale Campus.
Phil is very focused on ensuring our students and instructors have a well-rounded experience at HAA and are growing both personally and professionally.
One of the areas where Phil has had the greatest impact is creating networking opportunities for our students and staff and providing them with opportunities to build connections with industry professionals and operators. Phil started our Mentor Speaker Series which features pilots from various sectors of the industry sharing their experiences, career insights, and advice. The program offers students and instructors a chance to engage with pilots who are flying real-world operations. Phil has also been instrumental in arranging career-orientated tours of local operators so HAA students and staff can view commercial operations up close. These type of networking events are invaluable to students and instructors who are preparing for the next step in their career.
Phil also focuses on building community at our Troutdale campus. He helped organize a celebration for the Chinese New Year for students and staff which featured a potluck-style dinner with dishes from around the world. There was a great turnout from our students, CFIs and other staff who enjoyed being able to celebrate together.
One of Phil’s colleagues said, “I’ve seen Phil regularly going above and beyond for our students. He demonstrates his care for our students’ well-being and supports Troutdale CFIs in providing high-quality education on a daily basis.”
Thank you and congratulations, Phil!
